By enrolling your child with A Star Dance & Performing Arts (including our Bebe Ballet program), you agree to the terms and conditions set out below.

These terms help us keep every class, performance and interaction safe, fair and full of joy for our whole community. If you ever have a question, our team is always here to help.

Tuition

Clear. Simple. Easy and Convenient for Your Family.

You deserve a smooth, stress-free experience when it comes to your child's dance journey. Our tuition structure is designed to be transparent, flexible and family friendly, so you can focus on watching your child inspire joy, build confidence and sparkle every week.

How Payments Work

Tuition is paid via secure Direct Debit using your nominated bank account or credit card.

• Payments are made in advance
• Monthly payments are processed on the 7th of each month
• Monthly payments run for Bebe Ballet students run from January to October

• Monthly payments run for A Star Dance students run from January to December
• Weekly or fortnightly options are available upon request
• If you would like to align your payment date with your pay cycle, simply email our team and we’ll happily help

Monthly Tuition Pricing

Your monthly tuition includes your child’s weekly classes, access to our warm and engaging teaching team, professional class structure and performance opportunities throughout the year.

Monthly Options

• $149 per month for Musical Theatre and Twirltime classes

• $159 per month for Soloist
• $219 per month for Primary Dance and A Star Style classes
• $379 per month for A Star Dance

All Star Dancer

• Attend Primary Dance/A Star Dance Class AND A Star Style and A Star Style is $119/month

Additional Programs

• Elite Technique Classes: $99 per month
• DanceStep Program: $169 per year

What’s Included in Tuition

Your tuition supports much more than just class time.

You’re investing in:

• Engaging, age appropriate lessons
• Professional teaching and curriculum
• Safe, supportive studio environments
• Performance and exam opportunities
• A connected community experience
• A place where your child feels empowered, seen and celebrated

The invitation to participate in performances is included in your tuition. Participation is optional and tuition remains the same whether or not your child chooses to perform.

Attendance & Refunds

To keep our programs consistent and sustainable for all families:

• Tuition is payable regardless of attendance
• No refunds or credits are available for missed classes due to illness, holidays, injury or unforeseen closures
• Catch up classes are offered separately as a goodwill option to support families
• Students are welcome to attend additional classes in the same style, level and genre at no additional cost, subject to availability

If you withdraw before classes begin on 1 February, you may choose either:
• A credit on your A Star account (valid for 6 months), or
• A refund to your bank account, less a $25 administration fee.

This ensures we can continue delivering high quality, impactful experiences while giving families extra flexibility and opportunities for their children to grow, feel empowered and Inspire joy and sparkle.

Extended Time Away

We understand that sometimes families need to step away for a little while, whether for travel, family commitments or a well-earned break. If your dancer will be away for four or more weeks in a row, you may be eligible to hold their place with a holding fee of 10% of the tuition that would otherwise apply during your time away.


This holding fee is paid during the period you are away and keeps your dancer's spot secure, so they can step straight back into class when you return. To arrange a holding fee, simply let our team know in writing before your time away begins.

Changing or Cancelling Enrolment

If you need to withdraw your child from classes, we require:

• One month’s written notice via email

This allows us to manage class numbers, staffing and scheduling fairly for our whole community.

Failed Payments

If a Direct Debit payment is unsuccessful:

• A $15 dishonour fee will be added
• The outstanding payment will be reprocessed the following week

If fees remain unpaid for more than 14 days:

• Your child’s participation in classes and performances may be paused until the account is brought up to date

Our goal is always to support families, so please reach out early if you need assistance.

Additional Purchases

Uniforms, shoes, exams and other additional items are paid separately at the time of purchase.

Payment methods include:

• EFTPOS
• Credit card
• Cash

If payment is not made at the time of purchase, the amount may be processed via Direct Debit within 48 hours.

All sales are final

We're unable to offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, so we encourage families to check sizing and selection with our team before purchasing - we're always happy to help. Nothing in this policy affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including for items that are faulty or not as described.

Your Privacy Matters

All personal and financial information is treated with care and stored securely. Your details are only used for enrolment, communication and payment processing and are never shared with third parties outside of secure payment systems.

Sports Voucher Support

Making Dance More Accessible for Your Family

You deserve access to programs that Inspire joy, build confidence and create sparkle without cost being a barrier. The South Australian Sports Voucher program helps make professional, engaging dance training more affordable for families.

A Star Dance is proud to be a registered Sports Voucher Provider.

Who Can Use Sports Vouchers

Children living in South Australia who are eligible to attend Reception to Year 9 can receive:

• Up to $200 per child
• Per calendar year
• Applied directly to dance tuition

This is a beautiful way to support your child’s physical activity, wellbeing and creative growth.

How To Use Your Voucher

Keeping things simple, easy and convenient for families:

• Complete the Sports Voucher form using the link provided here
• Submit your form by the required deadline (1 August)
• Once approved, the $200 will be applied directly to your tuition
• Your ongoing payment amount will automatically be adjusted

Regular attendance helps your child feel confident, connected and empowered. It supports friendships, progress and the warm, engaging class environment that makes every lesson impactful and age appropriate.

We encourage families to book a catch up class so your child doesn’t miss out on learning, connection and magical moments.

Extra Flexibility For Families

Your child is welcome to attend additional classes in the same level, style and genre at no extra cost, subject to availability. This gives you flexibility, convenience and extra opportunities for your child to grow, shine and sparkle.

A Few Helpful Things To Know

• Catch up classes are offered as a goodwill option to support families
• Catch ups must be used within the year, provided you are still a current student
• Families are responsible for organising their own catch up bookings
• Catch up classes are not transferable to refunds, credits or discounts

Wearing the studio uniform helps your child feel part of our warm and welcoming dance family while creating a strong sense of belonging within our community.

It also supports your child’s learning by allowing teachers to clearly see posture, alignment and movement, helping each class remain engaging, safe and impactful.

Your New Uniform

When a new student joins us, and when current students step up into Rising Stars, Shooting Stars or Shining Stars, they receive a brand-new uniform to keep - a little welcome to their next chapter with us.

Because these are provided as a gift to mark the milestone, we're unable to offer exchanges once an item has been worn. If you'd like to check sizing before your child wears their uniform, just reach out and our team will happily help.

Presentation & Safety

To help every dancer feel comfortable and ready to move:

• Hair must be neat and off the face
• Jewellery, watches and accessories are not worn in class
• Wings, wands, tiaras and costume accessories are not permitted
• Baggy clothing and clothing with zips should be avoided
• Clothing must allow safe movement and proper technique correction

These guidelines help keep classes safe, focused and enjoyable for everyone

Footwear & Skin Tone Options

The right shoes help your child move safely and confidently, and footwear needs grow as your dancer progresses:

Twirltime - ballet shoes are required within two months of joining classes

Soloist & Primary - ballet shoes and tap shoes are required

Rising Stars, Shooting Stars & Shining Stars - shoes are required for each genre studied

Please reach out to our team for the preferred colour and style of shoe for your child's classes. We also sell shoes in studio at very competitive prices, making it simple and convenient to get exactly what your dancer needs.

If you would like ballet shoes or tights that more closely match your child's skin tone, please reach out to our team and we'll happily recommend suitable options. We love supporting every child to feel confident and represented.

At A Star Dance, the safety and wellbeing of your child is our top priority. Every class, performance and activity is designed to create a professional, warm, and engaging environment where your child can shine, feel confident and be fully supported.

Child Safety

A Star Dance is committed to providing a child safe environment at all times, including:

• Studio classes and events
• Public performances
• Online classes and resources

Our team is trained to uphold all relevant child protection laws and policies to ensure children are safe, respected and valued in every interaction.

Photography, Video & Media Consent

We love capturing the joy, progress and magical moments of studio life, and we sometimes share these images and videos on our website, social media and promotional materials. We always aim to use children's images respectfully and, where possible, without full names.

Your family's media preferences are set through our Media Release Form, which you can complete here: Media Release Form.

Special Events

Some of our celebration events have a professional photographer on hand to capture all the magic, including:

* Teddy Bears Picnic

* Fairy School

* Royal Tea Party

* Winter Cup

* Festive Feast

Because these moments are captured by a professional photographer in a shared group setting, every child attending has the possibility of appearing in photos and videos used on our website, social media and promotional materials. By attending these events, families understand and accept that images may be captured and used in this way. As these are shared community celebrations, this applies to all attendees and overrides any preference set in the Media Release Form.

After each event, parents receive a link to the photos to view and treasure.

Privacy & Respect

Your child’s privacy is important to us. A Star Dance ensure:

• Children’s images are used appropriately and, where possible, without full names eg usually Miss 4 or Miss E
• Personal information such as address, email or phone numbers is never shared without consent
• Parents and carers respect the privacy of other families - cameras, phones and recording devices are not permitted in changing areas, bathrooms or in class

Safe Environments

A star Dance actively maintain a safe physical and emotional environment:

• Dance spaces are cleared of obstacles and hazards
• Floors and surfaces are suitable for movement
• Class sizes are kept safe and age appropriate
• Staff are trained in first aid and safety protocols
• Warm ups are conducted before class, stretching only after class
• Teachers may provide hands-on guidance for technique correction safely

Health & Emergencies

• First aid kits are always available
• Parents or guardians are contacted immediately in the event of a medical incident
• In serious cases, emergency services will be called

Parents are expected to advise A Star Dance of any medical conditions or concerns prior to classes to ensure your child’s care and safety.

Online Classes

Safety extends to online learning:

• Classes are monitored by our teaching team
• Students must use their full name to join
• Guidelines for appropriate clothing, space and supervision must be followed
• Sharing of class links or recordings is strictly prohibited
• Participation in online classes is at the child’s own risk

Duty of Care

• Dancers are supervised at all times during their enrolled class
• Supervision begins when class starts and ends when your child is collected
• Parents must collect their child on time - late fees may apply

• No bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind is tolerated
• Families are encouraged to raise any concerns promptly

Communication, Expectations & Policies

Keeping You Informed, Supported and Connected

We know that when families feel supported, children thrive. Our goal is to make communication simple, easy and convenient while keeping you fully informed about your child’s dance journey.

How We Communicate

Our primary ways to share important information are:

Email - Weekly newsletters for A Star Students, Monthly Newsletters for Bebe Ballet Students, updates and important announcements. Families may provide up to two email addresses. Please make sure your email address is current and regularly checked. We recommend adding [email protected] to your contacts to avoid missing emails.

SMS - For urgent updates such as class cancellations or performance changes. Families may provide up to two mobile numbers.

BAND Group App - For students in Soloist level and upwards, we use the BAND Group app. This is a private group similar to a Facebook group, accessible only to the class and teachers. It’s a great way for families to see what’s happening in class, stay connected with your child’s dance journey, and celebrate progress, performances and special moments.

Keeping Your Details Up-To-Date

To help us keep your child safe and supported, please notify us in writing of any changes to:

Co-Parenting Arrangements

A Star Dance is happy to communicate with two parents or guardians via email and mobile.

• Please note, we do not manage co-payments.
• The parent who enrolled the student is responsible for tuition and fees.

Student Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

A Star Dance asks families to help create a warm, professional, safe and engaging environment by supporting our studio’s expectations:

• Children attend classes on time and prepared
• Respect for teachers, staff, other students and the studio space is maintained
• Students follow safety guidelines and instructions
• Participation in class and performances is encouraged, but optional

Parent Expectations & Code of Ethics

A Star Dance encourages parents to be supportive, involved and positive participants in their child’s experience:

• Encourage your child to dance without pressure
• Celebrate effort and progress rather than outcomes
• Model respect for teachers, staff and other students
• Avoid criticising performance or results publicly

Studio Policies

Performances, Exams & Recognition

Celebrate Growth, Sparkle and Achievement

A Star Dance offers multiple opportunities for students to perform, take exams and be recognised for their commitment, skill and joy in dance. These moments are designed to inspire confidence, nurture creativity and strengthen connection within the dance community.

Performances

Students are invited to participate in age appropriate performances throughout the year. Regular attendance helps students feel confident, connected and empowered, and ensures they fully benefit from the class environment.

• Performance opportunities are included in tuition
• Participation is optional – tuition is not reimbursed if a student chooses not to perform
• Trial, casual, or part-time students (attending 50% of classes) are not eligible to participate in performances

Performances allow students to showcase their learning, enjoy the thrill of performing, and celebrate their progress with friends, family and the A Star Dance community.

During Performances

To protect the magic of the moment and the privacy of every child on stage:

* Electronic devices must be switched off or set to silent

* All performances are professionally recorded

* Audience members are asked not to film, record or take photographs during the performance

This helps every dancer feel safe and present, and ensures families can enjoy a beautiful professional recording of the show. Recordings of the show will be ready to download from 1 hour - 1 week after the performance. Families will receive an email with the link of the recording on the Monday before the show.

Exams

A Star Dance offers internal exams for all levels from Soloist upwards, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate progress and skill development within the studio. Tuition includes access to internal exam preparation

External exams are available for students in Primary level and upwards. Students attending external exams are required to participate in Elite classes in addition to their usual weekly classes to support preparation and success.

• external exam fees will be applied separately

Exams allow students to experience goal setting, achievement and the pride of reaching milestones in a supportive environment.

Certificates & Awards

A Star Dance loves to celebrate milestones in each student’s dance journey. Recognition helps students feel proud, motivated and part of a caring dance family.

Examples include:

5 Years at A Star Dance - Students who have attended consistently for 5 years receive a certificate at the Spring Gala/A Star Performance
10 Years at A Star Dance - Students who have attended consistently for 10 years receive a medal at the Spring Gala/A Star Performance
15 Years at A Star Dance - Students who have attended consistently for 15 years receive a trophy at the Spring Gala/A Star Performance

Extra Opportunities

Students are encouraged to attend additional classes in the same level, style and genre at no extra cost (subject to availability). These extra opportunities help maintain progress, reinforce skills, and provide additional magical moments of learning, connection and joy.

Extreme Situations & Online Classes

Supporting Families Through Every Twist and Turn

Life is full of surprises, and sometimes classes may need to change due to unforeseen circumstances. A Star Dance is committed to keeping your child supported, safe, and connected, even when challenges arise.

Onsite Classes Cancelled

In the event of government restrictions, public health measures, teacher illness, or extreme weather, A Star Dance may need to cancel onsite classes.

• Classes may move to an online format to maintain connection, consistency and community
• Class times and duration may be slightly altered
No credits or refunds are available for the change to online delivery
• Families are encouraged to book catch up classes once onsite lessons resume

Online Classes

Online classes are offered to provide students with a sense of normality, exercise, creative expression, and connection with peers and teachers.

Important Information:

• Classes may be live or prerecorded depending on age and level
• Participation is at the student’s own risk - injuries, while rare, can occur
• A safe, clear, and suitable space at home is required for dancing
• Pets or young siblings should be kept separate to avoid hazards
• No sharp objects, glass, or breakable items should be nearby
• Online classes are strictly private - recording, sharing links, or redistributing content is prohibited

Zoom Class Guidelines

For live online classes, students must:

• Join with their full name (matching enrolment details)
• Wear appropriate dance clothing that is comfortable and modest
• Participate from a communal space where an adult is present if possible
• Follow all teacher instructions to ensure a safe experience

All live online classes are monitored and recorded for child safety purposes.

Safety & Supervision

A Star Dance continues to prioritise safety in all environments. During online classes, parents are asked to take an active role in creating a safe space for movement while encouraging independence and responsibility in their child.

Empowered, Connected & Supported

Even when classes move online or unexpected situations arise, A Star Dance ensures families feel supported, students continue learning, and the dance journey remains full of joy, sparkle, and inspiration.

Refundable Tickets

When booking tickets to an A Star Dance event or performance, you may have the option to add a Refundable Ticket upgrade at checkout. This upgrade covers your entire booking and allows you to request a refund if you are unable to attend for one of the covered reasons below.

How it works

• The Refundable Ticket upgrade is added to your booking at the time of purchase

• If you are unable to attend for a covered reason, you must notify us within 48 hours of the performance time

• Your request will then be assessed, and if approved, a refund will be processed within 7 days of the event/performance time

• Refunded funds may take up to 14 working days to reach your account

Covered Reasons

A refund may be approved where you are unable to attend due to:

• Illness or injury with supporting evidence

• Family bereavement

• Government restrictions, public health measures

What We Can't Cover

* Refunds are considered subject to our full terms and conditions

* Appropriate supporting evidence must be provided

* Refunds are assessed on a discretionary basis, and we offer no unconditional guarantee of refund

* We cannot pay refunds for general health concerns, travel restrictions or precautionary self-isolation where you have not been personally affected or required to attend to a covered reason

These terms are designed to keep things clear, fair and kind for every family. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
